Is Taboo free to play?
Yes. You can play the taboo word game free on Tabooyna with no sign-up, in your browser or Android app.
How many players do you need?
At least two people; two teams with four or more players works best.
How do you play taboo?
Describe the target word without using forbidden taboo words. Correct guesses score points. See our rules page for details.
Can I play without downloading?
Yes. Open tabooyna.com in your browser. You can also install the Android app from Google Play.
Which languages are supported?
Tabooyna supports 17 languages for UI and word pools. Use the language selector to switch.
Can I suggest my own words?
Yes. Submit target and taboo words on the suggest-words page; approved cards join the pool.
Is Taboo the same as Tabu?
Yes. Tabu is the Turkish name; Taboo is the English name for the same word game.
Can I play on mobile?
Yes. The site is mobile-friendly and an Android app is available.
